We may believe we are seeking happiness in love, but what we are really after is familiarity.

About This Quote

It is commonly believed that love and happiness cannot be found in the same place. It is assumed that if you want to be happy, you must find someone to marry, and if you want to be in love, you must find someone to marry. But, in reality, it doesn’t always work out that way. In fact, people often get married because they are already familiar with the person they are marrying.

It has been a long time since they have dated or seen each other. So, while many people will say that love and happiness cannot be found in the same place, perhaps they are doing something very wrong!
